Responsible for true global innovation in sunscreen, Founder Andrea Horwood worked with the University of Western Australia to commercialise their globally patented Zinc Oxide particle for use in sunscreen for the first time. The launch of INVISIBLE ZINC sunscreen in the early 2000’s was the world’s first dedicated chemical (UV absorber) free, zinc oxide only, sunscreen range. An innovation that solved many of the problems associated with both UV spectrum protection and concerns associated with chemical sunscreen safety.  

Andrea took INVISIBLE ZINC to the widest possible market in Australia, winning shelf space in over 8,000 Pharmacy, grocery and department stores Australia wide. Engaging and exciting marketing campaigns produced by Andrea helped engage a wide consumer base and create one of Australia’s favourite suncare brands. IZ won many awards both in Australia and Internationally, including being voted  ‘World’s Best Beauty Product’ by Donna Karan and Mario Testino at the Wallpaper Awards, London; and “Best Beauty Product” and “Best sunscreen” by Vogue, In-Style and Bazaar. A go-everywhere healthy Australian essential.
